So my customer called yesterday, said she had a small leak and the insurance company sent some people out.

They couldn't find the leak.

IR, moisture detectors, ect ect.

She was out of town and friend came over and found some sitting water that peaked into a few rooms.

The insurance people saw the walls had moisture in some areas, but couldn't figure out where the leak came from.

She got the feeling from them, that she was playing a game.

Like water came in but there's no existing leak.

She mention she tasted the water and it was salty.

I asked could it be here water softener ?

No I use potassium chloride.

I ended up going to the water softener and pulling a pellet out and it's pretty salty.

So then I follow the tube for recharging it through the house to the drain in the washing machine.

Sure enough the plastic elbow snapped and the hose was hanging loose.

It recharged when she was gone and leaked water into the house.

The reason they look for the leak is to make sure it not going to continue leaking, and they want to see if it's covered under the policy.

They couldn't find it, so they were sending some one else to inspect it.

Now they don't have to.

Because I found it for them.

Radiant concrete floors. Tack strip with concrete nails.Oooops. Thankfully not my job and my buddy was insured.

I learned to glue the tackstrip or run a mop over the floor to dry fast and indicate where the piping was.
