I actually am interested in an electric TM set up as a back up unit - something that could fit into a chevy astro or similar small vehicle which I could keep tucked away in my shop for when my other truck or TM needs service.

What has me holding back is this: I just do not know how an electric motor powered by a 15 amp residential circuit could produce enough lift to provide the vacuum I need to feel comfortable.

Has anyone here have any first hand experience using an electric TM that would tell me that my concerns are unfounded? Is there an electric vacuum motor that can really compare to a 47 blower at 200 feet?

Its a buyers market on used machines. I got a steam action nike with a 33 blower with only 600 hours on it for 3200 bucks. Even the smallest slide in will knock the socks off an electric. I would just buy a used slide in if you want a back up. I like the steam action too because it has a small gas tank on the unit eliminating a fuel tap. I must say though that the new mytee porty looks pretty b

First off if you are, fuckoff.

secondly, some Advertisers choose to pay their bill by auction off goods or services. I collect the funds, the bidder gets a nice (usually) discount and the Advertiser gets a lot of press and action on their websites. It's a win win win.

By putting up an auction for an item I am not endorsing it and certainly not "shilling" it. I am merely putting it up for sale.

I ran electric for many years. If well maintained they give surprisingly acceptable service.

Not as quick or brutally powerful as gas, but they work well.

Hell, there's a whole lotta "wet for three days" big gas TM cowboys out there ..

'lectr-o-vacs have their virtues , but they can't compare to positive displacement blowers
