Before I buy one, is there anyone rolling with these new tanks?

Does it effect performance? I run a 45 blower with the standard HM recovery tank.

Larry Cobb sells a bunch of them.

I have been running mine for about 3 months now, no problems with it what so ever.

I ordered mine plumbed for 2.5" hose.

it doesnt come with a hook up for the blower or relief valve so you will have to plan to do that. It was easy with my set up. used a 2.5 " barb and took the spring relief off my old tank and drilled it into the new one. If you need I can e-mail you a picture.

My old blower filter wouldnt fit into the mytee tank, so I dont have one, however I use a filter box and the mytee tank does come with a nice filter for the inlet. So the air/water is double filtered anyway.

Price was right and it was sure nice to get ride of that rotten aluminum tank. shiteatinggrin

Iv,e have them on my Cobb unit and their great almost 2 years, had a small problem with the seal on the front tank with basket. They sent me new ones and I keep the top of the ring lubricated problem fixed. I wish I had a pump out for some jobs. The best thing about these tanks are IF you clean them daily no smell from anything the roto mold tanks rinse great ,I remove the center tank cover and flush with water, no smell after almost two years light in weight and NO RUST. Any questions email or call 239-549-7701 jz.

I think the Mytee tanks are built very well.

The Rotomolding lessens the weight of the tank;

allowing less weight for the TM.

The sloped bottom allows for complete draining of the tank.

I like Nick's waste tank on some of his ** machines.. they are cylindrical and I would only image that creating better air flow.

This recovery tank does not come with relief valve

If you read my post above I pointed that out was a very easy fix. and I can offer pictures if need be. I used a simple spring relief valve.

Been using this tank over 2 years now. holding up very nice. The only issues are very high heat (very hot inside my van) and good vacuum can deform the tops, but they dont leak air just sucked the dome's down. For the price these tanks are great.

Do you know where I can get spring relief valve?

this spring

http://www2.cobbcarpet.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68&products_id=5142

a 3/8" x 3 1/2" bolt from a hard ware store

a 3/8" x 2" fender washer
a regular 3/8" washer
and 2 3/8" nuts

then drill the tank with a 3/8" center hole for the bolt and evenly space 6 holes around the center hole for the air to enter the tank when spring is compressed.

put the washer and bolt from the inside of the tank through the center hole and the spring, regular 3/8' washer and 2 nuts on the outside. tighten nuts/spring untill you get 15 hg's on your vac gauge when the vac hose is completely blocked off.

the big fender washer is inside closing off the holes until additional air is required at 15 hg's

The correct place for the required relief valve is at the blower.

Larry

I agree at the blower is a better choice. but fact is for years relief at the tank was industry standard and still used today by several manufacturers without issue

a TEE in the plumbing on the blower inlet. See arrow on one of Cobb's truckmounts showing the relief valve he linked to

closest to blower is "best"...but as stated in this thread spring relief on the tank also proven.........
