doing a video with muddy foot prints, and clumps of mud. I'll be sure to spray fiber protector down before the shoot, it's going to be messy.Prefer not to use any food products.

So what you’re saying is you can’t clean real mud out of carpet?
of couse I can, but I'm going to dirty up my kid, the carpet and the prop I'm using. I'll be using multiple products to make it look realistic. I'll have to experiment for a little bit, before going to location

n, but I'm going to dirty up my kid

but you're going to dirty up your kid, tools, props anyway..
but with something else that "looks" like mud??

Nothing "fake" you'd make would be any harder or easier to rinse and wash off than the real thing.
substitutes might even be harder

I'll be using multiple products to make it look realistic.

the real thing looks most "realistic"

you're WAY overthinking this Moser

I don't know if it will fit the bill but you could use washable finger paint for the footprints.....maybe....I mean it says washable

PLEASE have enough sense not to use clay .
(or potting soil)

Plain ole dirt 'n water makes dandy mud

God made dirt
and dirt don't hurt

Get a university graphic arts student and have them draw mud prints on the carpet with a sharpie
