Saw a fox unit with 2 heat exchenger so call fox in long beach and they say it is a 2000 to 2004 year model. it had about 1500 hours on it and looks in good conditon.

my question is there are some fittings with rust on them. they look to be plumbing ones not welded like stainless steel, so maybe reg. steel, iron, galvanized, etc. If some of the fittings are rusted on the ends is there rust on the inside too?

Should these fittings and pipes (black ones i think) be replaced with new ones? I have seen these conectors and fittings used on other tm machines, so I know it probably is for keeping costs down.

please give me all the advice you have, long answers are better than short ones.

I agree when I see those on TM's I think they do as cost savings, I'd replace them.

Rust inside? Doubtful unless left sitting for extended periods of time. However have you ever seen the inside of a water supply line over years? It's all crusty with corrosion and scale from hard water deposits and fall out.
