Genny and I were just talking and we are wondering what others are charging for new construction cleaning?

I know the rates will vary by region but I'm still curious. We have no clue what anyone else is charging around here neither.
Thanks.

When we cleaned back in the 1990's we were getting $700 per house.. Wiping counters, windows, vacuuming, sheet vinyl, and the dreaded redo' when trades would go back in and make a mess after you cleaned it...

The projects are always behind schedule and rarely managed well... We got burned $10k from one development... The money is good when you get paid...

I'd honestly rather WDR and wait for the money over Construction Cleanup

Genny and her crew do most of the work. I do some power washing and garage floors and things like that.

We are charging.60 sq ft or $1000 $2000 depending on size and extra trips for redos.

We had a crew of 4 when doing it, they'd get 6-8 units completed per day...

Everyone had their own task and it ran like a well oiled machine...

Downside is the projects are ran by the lowest bidders, and a lot of mainland companies come down to do the work because the locals as lazy.. It's just like when @Desk Jockey says not to chase flood work in different states, same principle... Remembering the golden rule, He who has the gold rules...

We learned our lesson...

I'd like to do that kind of work but it just doesn't pay all that well. We do some commercial work but generally they come from current accounts.

When my house was complete the builder used his gal. I asked what he paid and he said $600.00. I checked for missed areas, sheetrock dust. Nothing, she did a good job.

We would have been at least 5 times that. :eekk:

Genny averages about 45 to 50 hours per house. We figure it's about $25 per hour per person give or take. I hate doing it but she's doing more and more each year.

Genny vacs and wipes all cabinets inside and out including disassemble and wipe the rails.

Unfinished basements get rafters dusted and all vents wires and appliances get wiped. Shop vac concrete floors and mop. Same with garage but I power wash the doors and spin the floors. Power wash siding or brick and driveway n sidewalk.

What sucks is the hardwood flooring which is in most. The painters tape paper to the floor for months and the glue sticks to the floor.

I guess we shouldn't complain about our rates. I was pushing for .75.
