I think I’m going to suck it up and order some custom green/blue vac hose.

Headlights/taillights

Bumpers and grille turned black (possibly chrome bumpers)

Did you order a new van, Fred?

Missed you in AZ, we had a blast!

So the newer cleanco has taken a back seat?
Yes. I'm proud to say that Saiger was on it's very first residential job, just last week on Tuesday! I've also added Tom's wand which has added considerably to the effectiveness of a wand cleaning that what I was used to with my Westpak on the Cleanco. The suction and ergonomics on that wand are incredible.

The Ford/Cleanco is 7 years newer but it's got about 4K hours on the machine. I've been running it 5-6 days a week for over 4 years. It's produced nearly 500K in that time and was one of the best investments we ever made.

When I found the Cleanco, I was on the hunt for a Butler. The price was right on a pretty young Cleanco and I poked around here a little and pm'd a couple guys. All positive so I went for it. I'm really glad I did. It's been effective and easy to deal with.

But I've always been impressed with the Butler build quality and commitment to perfecting a product rather than reinventing themselves every 3 years and having guys wish they had the next years unit, because it's different and better. Cleanco is sort of the same way. The previous owners of my Ford/Cleanco cheaped out a little though, on the reels and tank. It really doesn't have the fit and finish of the '02 GMC/Butler. I can't believe I'm saying that about a 15 year old rig but it's true.

The Butler is more accessible to the owner/op than the Cleanco. It's just really easy to get your entire body over any of the components and many are removable by a large quick connect. I've done almost everything an owner/op would be expected to do, with some early help from Saiger at his compound, on the hunt for the pulsation in the line of the Butler ultimately being the pump itself. It's given me more confidence than I've had messing with the Cleanco. I'd rather drive to KC which is almost 3 hours away than mess with it myself. I'm still a little intimidated by the tight space they put the Cleanco in. It's probably that more than anything. Tight spaces drive me a little crazy, Jerry.

Hey Russ you should look into Plastidip for the grill and bumpers.

Just remove them and put on saw horses. Go with 4-5 thin coats instead of thicker coats.

Or just repaint with good Rust-Oleum or Krylon for plastic.

The ole Girl looks really nice.

Justin F recommended the same thing. I may go ahead and try. The price is right!

Thanks!

A couple things I REALLY like about the Butler, that I didn’t see coming.

1. The pork hole! It is far more usable and practical than I thought. I use it all the time. I think the curb appeal is so much better because of it.

2. It idles while prespraying with the HF sprayer. The blower doesn’t really get going until you cap the vac hose and are ready to clean. It climbs immediately, when you need it. I really love this feature. I’m sure it’s easier on the van and system, not to mention the pleasure of working around such a quiet machine. It’s such a refined system, even 15 years ago.

Ryan K gave an awesome presentation on branding to the folks who attended MF Scottsdale.

He said whatever you’re doing, make it CONSISTENT with your brand.

I believe they have the strongest BRAND in the CC world.

Proof of this is talk of cult like following.

Many consumers wouldn’t consider another brand. It just becomes a question of “Which Butler am I going to buy?”.

Apple has done this with the iPhone and other electronics.

They are doing it right and they are CONSISTENT over long periods of time.

Why do you call it a porkhole? Did you catch Marty being naughty with one of those sometime in the past? Do you have a video of it? If you do, I can take that off your hands $$$ if you know what I mean
