The original zipper, finally got to go out and try the original on a few differnt carpets and can say the original is a bad a** built unit that works very well and recovers even better than my newer version.

Pros

Built like a tank literally

Recovers very well

You can set impact angle of the jets( new one doesn't have adjustment)

I like the clear window for the customer, as you can clearly see what coming out in the fron of unit.

I liked the foot pedal release.

I liked how sturdy it was to use.

Did I mention how dry it left the carpet with a dry pass.

Cons:

A bit on the heavy side!

I wish the window was on the front and back so I could see as I am extracting or dry passes.

The valve assembly is integrated in the handle and if your truck breaths fire it gets super hot and could burn you without the cloth gaurd.

It is defiantly harder to push not sure just because it is bigger or just because it is heavier.

Overall a super built unit that was built to last a very long time.

Pretty cool to see where it was and what it became.

Nice to see the board help some new toys out there for us. Zippers, the corner gard things, Jims grout tool, Marks door thing, etc....

What other products has the board helped get noticed(in a good way)?

Thank God I got the newer one then! The new one is lower and go under more furniture..Wouldnt want it heavier and I like where the current site tube is... Though we would probably clean faster if NO site tube but not as through. Haha

it was just a headline, the new zippers are also built well but you sacrifice the adjustable jet angle by lowering the main body. i will say i got under most beds i did yesterday without an issue.

just posted to show the durability of a well made tool!

I'll believe the new Zipper's are built just as well as the old ones.
BUT I do not believe you actually cleaned yesterday.

Understood.. im amazed at the zippers engineering and was wondering about all the versions that must have came before the current one.. it was good to see the old verson photo-thanks.

In an earlier post I mentioned that it might be too difficult to use in tight areas-- but I was wrong. I have the 15inch and it is now my GoTo Wand!! Its a work out-- But I need to lose weight anyway!

This makes two wands that Michael has tested where an earlier design was better in his opinion . . .
The original Zipper in this case . . .
and the 4-Jet PC Ti Wand vs the later 6-jet version . . .
