Ninja porty??

I rented this thing for a job tonight and tested it out and the vac. is really weak. What should I check or is just a weak pos. My 3.5 shop vac sucks a ton better.. If I can't more vac i'm not doing the job I would feel too guilty.

Anybody ever use this model?

Keith;

It has two 2-stage vacs.

Should be a lot better than a shop vac.

Check the recovery tank lid gasket and vac motor hoses.

It should do an OK job with heat.

It a 100cfm with 1.5" stack in the tank, and 1.5" hose, short of what Larry mentioned (hose being loose on vac), it's about all you are gonna get. I'll bet the tiny vac motors are loaded up full of lint and hair.

I have a ninja 500psi and it works great. Make sure your dump lever is closed all the way and both switches have to be on. I hope this will help.

The guy said it was rebuilt at least the pump was... I checked the basics dump valve, vac seal it seemed really easy to lift the lid with the port plugged is that normal? I will go through and check it over tomarrow there must be something plugged. When I was trying it the wand was leaking on the carpet and I went to suck it up and did no good what so ever!

Definitley a vac issue, start at the overflow shut off float in the tank, remove the screen basket and ball, see how the vac feels on the plain riser stack, if strong, then look at the screenbasket, it's probably covered in lint.
If weak, it's between the stack and vacuum motor intake down below, could just be a torn wire supported vac hose between tank and motor, or a loose clamp.

Really I just rented this porty but I would love to bag up everthing I get out of it and show them... I think i'm just going to turn down these porty jobs till I can afford one that is plumbed right.. Thanks for the tips!

I really think I would be better investing in another 150' of the 2.5" and only take jobs that are within 350, 400ft.

I might be pre-judging this portable but I really don't think it would hold a tennis ball at the end of the hose must be something wrong!

How big are the jobs.
Have you got more time, or more money?

If it's a couple hours of work or better, I'd buy and pull the hose (if it's reasonable), if it's a bunch of small jobs I'd just invest into a decent porty and use my TM hose and tools, fill the tank with 150º water and roll it in.

I'm going to build a special heated version of the GG-M5 just for guys who do this, it's gonna take some creative plumbing and a different heating system approach caue of the amperage limitation.

The ones I have now are just little ones but I just got a call form this "Indian" or "Arabian" fellow that want his hotels cleaned and I want to be ready...

So far the money for these has been not so good but I think I can market to these custy's in the future.
