I have a electric fuel pump under the van to supply the tm, my mechanical fuel pump on the tm engine is starting to leak can I just remove the mechanical one and put a plate in its place? Or does it need to have the mechanical one?

How old is your Nissan? Automotive applications quit using mechanical fuel pumps in the late 1970's.

I had a great 1971 Datsun B110 with the A12 engine. Mechanical fuel pump,easy to rebuild.

Basically the identical engine was used on Prochem Performers and 405s. However they moved to electric fuel pumps and put a plate over the former pump location. That pump was driven off a camshaft lobe.

The little electric pump is entirely adequate, no need for keeping the mechanical pump.

Doug;

I think that hi-pressure Walbro model is only for Fuel Injection engines.

It could cause a fire in a carburetor engine.

Is that a Nissan NV van? If so, is it an auxillary connection that came with the van - with a pump to feed the tm? Or do you have a fuel tap hooked up?
