I just cleaned a 100% nylon rug and now it
is bubbling up ob the sides? What would cause
that? And how can I get it to lay flat.

I cleaned with a prespray and wand. She just wanted
a quick run over and I didn't think it would hurt
since it was synthetic.

This is why I stay away from rugs.

Anyways, any suggestions would help

More than one possible answer since you did not give a lot of specifics.

My first thought is that the edges have on over-wrap or binding made of a different material, likely cotton or other natural fiber. This is what shrunk and caused the edges to pucker.

You can take to a rug shop that will block and stretch it. You may want to try it yourself if it is not a valuable rug and/or if there is no rug expert nearby.

The process is to steam it with hot water and pull it into shape a couple inches at a time. When you get a small section flat and straight, tack it to a backing such as marine grade plywood sheet. Use carpet tacks.

When it has completely dried, you should be able to remove the tacks and have a flat rug.

Crud, How are you suppose to know about natural fibers before hand when the tag says "100% resilient nylon" and she said it was an inexpensive rug from national.

Hopefully it will relax because I really dont want to take it and pay a rug specialist.
