So, after my good friend 'Dancing with Grass' Chavez and other luminaries and or saints whom I respect, (yes, you) kept singing its praises. I decided to give SS upholstery tool a second chance.

O.K.... well....dang... I guess I owe Sapphire an apology.

It ain't a bad tool at all.
Granted it is not for high detail work like my fav PMF inner jet tool. And unlike the claims it does leave some marks and at times water delivery can be uneven. In other words: It does not walk on water.

However, it is a very good tool. I'd consider it a high production tool. Moves smooth, definitely ergonomic, cleans nicely both ways, good air flow for nice drying. Well worth the money. I still whip out my pmf though, when I need fine detailed work. But the SS is seeing some serious action.

In addition my local Raymond told me that I need to buy something, so that he can afford dinner. Go ahead Raymond, charge it. Don't spend it all in one place though.

Stay tuned folks- Next week I am cleaning a sectional with the Hossss........

Mine streaks for sure, and yes I clean it often. Still a great tool.

I'd like to get another tool with a little more gusto and a larger head. Something for back of couch, large pillows etc.

Giving piping a good clean from different angles. Not just a wetting from above.
Reaching into tight areas (the head is a lot thicker than the pmf tool.)
Cleaning fiber next to wood that will not tolerate moisture.
Following curves (we are talking upholstery) where there is not just a wide open area and you don't just wet it in the hope that it will somehow blend in.
Will leave an excess amount of moisture in areas where you can't push the 90 degree angle down and need to give it a good clean. (Can be compensated by extra dry passes). Not necessary when working with pmf tool that allows better clean, more angles in these areas, without excess amount water left in fabric.
Hard to pick moisture in confined areas.
Shall I proceed?

I've had the tool before and cleaned plenty of sofas with it and plenty more without it.

So, please pay attention: Very Good Tool. Great production. Not perfect. Lacks when you need fine detailed work. Read original review.

I don't do cars either. By the time they get the estimate they decide they can live perfectly well with a dirty car :winky:

I don't use the PMF any longer but have many years ago and so of those on your bitch list are they not something you could say about most tools?

Prior to the Sapphire we were using the Prochem and the Drimaster tools. Both good tools but the Sapphire can be better on most fabrics.

1. Piping when soiled will need to be cleaned and tried from different angles. Piping is a problem in general, they use too mush crap as filler so it is prudent to use less moisture on them.

2. It is a bit thicker but I've not seen where it has been too much thicker that it caused a problem.

3. ??? I've not seen it cause any over wetting problems. If fact I see it as better control.

4. Yes upholstery is full of curves but I don't see it any worse than any tool in that aspect.

5. What the hell are you doing to the upholstery? LOL No I've not experienced a deficiency in that area either

6. ? Lordy, I thought Porkchop was a tough customer.

7. How much do you want to this one?

Its not perfect but of the other tools out there it has been the closest we've found.
