I've got a 1978 Grumman Olson step van that smells like old gas. How do I remove the smell from the inside of the truck? There is no carpet or other textiles in the vehicle.

Also I have a 1985 gmc safari that was closed up for about a year and it stinks like an old car.

How do you remove "old car smell".

The only textiles in it are the seats and the padding under the rubber floor mat.
Thanks in advance.

wash it down real well with a degreaser or a fire & smoke wash, rinse it and let it dry real well. Ozone it with an ozone generator, seal off the cab area because ozone isn't good for plastic or rubber. then seal and paint it.

Recently the Youth Pastor of our church accidentally had a can of Gasoline fall over in the back floor board of his car about a gallon of it.

I used full strength and let dwell for about 15 minuets Odorcide.

I flooded it then flushed it and extracted it, and then repeated it.

There to this day there is no odor. They had to go on a 10 hour trip with they're two young little ones.

They said they did not detect any gas odor at all. It made the ride very pleasant.

They tried many things along with going to a car wash and they could not get the smell out for over a week.

Maybe you could give the odorcide a try.

I would wash it down well with Odorcide diluted STRONGLY.

I would then ozone it for about 12 hours.

what do you think insurance will pay for a 1985 Safari and a 1978 Step van??

I'd get more for scrap than they are "worth".

The '78 is all aluminum. It's probably worth more now for scrap, than it cost new in 1978.

The '78 only has 60k miles original on it, It was a back up vehicle for a snack vending service. I got it for $900 bucks and it runs.

Those Grummans are good vans. Usually had a ford or chevy motor and sometimes diesel. Terrible fuel mileage tho. I drove one off and on for 4 years as a uniform man.
