"In the LAST 2 months"...since I have been back in the SADDLE... that hurts

So ...I google Harpers Carpet Cleaning... :idea:

WTF... Google has updated my SITE address... :roll:

They have the WRONG ADDRESS.....&.....AREA CODE...........

My son .....never checked this.. :roll: This line has FULL PAGE "Y-Page advertising"..!!!

The correct # is (813) 783-1545.....NOT (352) 783-1545....

The incorrect area code.......RINGS to a recording.."This # is NO LONGER IN SERVICE.!"

We have changed the INFO...!
It say's order is PENDING.............. :roll:

HOW LONG IS NORMAL FOR...pending...

Who can I contact to SPEED up this ISSUE..??????????????

Are you waiting for a post card with a pin number in google places?

If not, should change right away...except that Google places tends to take a while to change out in listings.

They will sometimes change things on their own...my Dallas number was showing in Sacramento for a few weeks...even though the editing area showed the right one.

I have NEVER ask GOOGLE to put me in "Google Places"... :!:

However..They can ACCESS my companies NAME..and POST INCORRECT INFO...

NOT only is it the WRONG phone #...IT has a recording that states.."THAT THE NUMBER YOU HAVE CALLED IS NO LONGER INSERVICE..

That is a ******* DEATH SENTENCE FOR A SERVICE COMPANY..... that hurts

What I am embarrassed about ..IS.. That I have RIPPED my sons ASS about the loss in
volume of business... We have 4 business lines...Just so happens that this is the
LINE that reaches our LARGEST demographic...

Because my son was in the feild...NOT BEHIND THE DESK...We had NO way of realizing
which lines were ringing.."They were CALL-FOWARDED to cell phones." Last week..I
forwarded the phones BACK into the OFFICE... :!:
That is when ..I noticed.!!!.. The 783 # had little to NO incoming calls... :idea:

I have been RACKING my brain & crunching numbers to find the problem..! TODAY..one
of my clients called and said...She had "googled" our name & brought the problem to my
attention... The telephone # is correct 783-1545..but the are code is incorrect..!

This has been the case since late JANUARY...It has cost me 10's of thousands of dollars..
SO have a good LAUGH ...you pHucKtArD...

YOur precious ..INTERNET..has SCREWED ME>!!!!! "With NO end in sight"..Because
you CANNOT get a HUMAN BEING TO TALK TO... :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll:

Claim the page and get some client reviews and citations.

This is why most folks check their listings on a somewhat regular basis.

Live and learn buddy.

In the future don't overlook this valuable resource.

But like anything, once you're involved....like it or not...diligence is important.

Of course, the eggs in more than one basket is pretty important too.

The more you work it, the more you are likely to get out of it.

You have to build web cred. It doesn't just happen by accident, luck or serendipity.

And your business should have (and I have) multiple marketing streams.

I know the Internet can be a slow frustrating thing to dial in.

It can take months (or longer)to gain a little rank.

The best advise I can give is to make that listing stand out in all the ways available and gain visibility amongst the pack once you get the right phone number.

Just claiming the listing could be the fastest way to correct any false information and add more relevant information such as: services, categories and keywords.

Your website in the listing has the (352) area code throughout the site.

783....is not a valid exchange in the (352) area code...

We are in a weird area... :roll:

I have to have two phone services "land lines"...within a 1/4 mile of our location... :shock:

Five years ago I had a similar situation...

The telephone companies had a battle over boundaries...and all my customers had
to add the area code's for LOCAL call"s...CONFUSED the HELL out of the seniors.. :roll:
They thought the call would be a long distance TOLL CALL...suffered for a year on that
one before I could change my print advertising to add the (area code) to existing ads..!

I even tried CABLE telephone service... :idea: That sucked...every time the power went out
which is DAMN near every day in the summer...
NO PHONES..... Great for water damage calls. :roll:

My office is on 2 different city boundaries...Front yard is in Saint Leo, fl...Backyard is in
San Antonio fl... :roll: My mail was delivered to St. Leo college for 30 days before I could
straighten that out... :roll: It gets worse..ect..ect... :roll: :roll: :roll:
