I would think get a larger used unit and dual wand, then throw the small TM in a trailer or another van, if you need 2 trucks/2 different set ups.

Are you thinking of mounting it in a trailer or a van? If its just for carpet I would update to a newer tm and a slightly used van and keep your old tm for backup and overflow work. Dual wanding is good IF you are going to use it consistently like mikey does. But for the occasional large job the old unit and new unit would work great in tandem. My backup machine is in a, ahem, open trailer for just those reasons. I use the backup enough to warrant keeping it.
