In the Summer of 76...
I was 16,and looking for a job.
The job,I found changed my life for 46 yrs...
These to many are simply what you see...
4 simple pieces of wood, too noobs under 25 yrs exp...
Respectfully speaking of course.
But image 2 shows why we used them.
This is the reason Claude Blackburn became so rich an why Dri-Eaz soared as industry leader in Restoration...
Every carpet cleaner back in the day used wooden blocks.
As you may surmise Claudes idea was fantastic.
Try putting them small 1 inch squared blocks under massive furniture.
The Styrofoam blocks were originally Styrofoam from insulation, cut an formed with high heat wires.
At that time period Pre Claude.
The only other alternative was to scrounge for non printed ink cardboard boxes.
You would cut them with scissors.
Into one foot strips.
An inch wide an roll them up...
As luck would have it my boss.
At the time rarely bought the wooden versions.
Too costly he would yell...
Card boards free in dumpsters.
An of course the scissors he supplied were dull an cheap.
Hence our grips were like iron...
Lol...
No sticky tabs,no options like now...
So respect every aspect of what you do...
There were no glides,nothing...
So there you go...
Carpet Cleaning History 101...
Regards to those at it...
My passion has never faltered through the decades...
