I know, but does he have a Silver Bullet, or are the top 5 or 10 equal. I think they are, but I’m No Guru! Sides, I’m a commercial hack!

I do too. I like them a lot. However, mine changed a lot to private label, like Wal-Mart Great Value. They still carry some regulars but not always what you’re after.

I have no distributor to support except for FedEx, UPS and USPS. Has worked great for years. Nearest is Nashville, 2.5 hours depending on traffic. Also get to pay 10% TN sales tax.

The Langleys are my distributors and they put Gorilla on everything🤷🏼‍♂️Nothing wrong with that, cause Tim takes good care of me. Just saying they don’t always have new fangled if you will.

Once you figure out Procyon
Hey the newbies back. What do you mean by figure it out? We’ve actually been looking at Procyon as our main solution to use and since you’re speaking positively on it, figure you’re the perfect person to ask. This is what my wife and I have pretty much settled on.

Procyon plus for general cleaning
Procyon extreme for wool and upholstery
Slop & Gobble as boost for grimey ass carpets

Has anyone tried S&G before?

Although Procyon extreme is wool safe, I still don't use it on wool or upholstery. I use the extreme as my prespray for residential and Procyon plus powder for my rinse. The reasons I like Procyon are, it doesn't foam at all. It is non-toxic and leaves no sticky residues. Dries to a crystal. I use prochem fine fabric products mainly for wool or upholstery. Never use carpet cleaning products on upholstery. Use upholstery products as they are formulated specifically for upholstery. You will still need more powerful products for trashed carpets. I have been using Saiger's Code Red lately. Works great.

Ok cool thanks for the reply. is there a reason you don’t use the extreme on wool? Those are all the things we liked when reading about Procyon too. We’re trying to stay mostly “green” so that’s why we were looking at that slop&gobble for a stronger product. Does the prochem fine fabric generally work for all upholstery fabrics?

There are various fine fabric products from prochem. Upholstery presprays, shampoos, rinses, etc. Familiarize yourself with them and learn when to use what. I am not a fan of Procyon on wool because of the ph. I know it's been tested and pronounced safe but I prefer other products. Especially do not use Procyon on wool area rugs. It's strong enough to cause dye bleed.

I’ll look into the prochem line of upholstery products. From what we saw for the Procyon being safe on wool is that it applies at a 10 when wet but dries to a 6.5. So in that time that it’s wet it’s enough to strip dyes?

It won't strip dyes but can cause them to bleed. You don't want to be cleaning area rugs in peoples homes anyway. It's probably safe enough on wool wall to wall carpet. Not designed for rugs.
