I went out to an insurance flood job yesterday (sump pump failure), and proceded to extract the basement CGD carpet. As with my model of Genesis APO, it needs a water supply to prime the APO, so I hook up to custys water source. Well, the spigot was leaking....inside the house....right to the basement area where I was working. It just added to the water extraction, but could have done a lot worst damage if I didn't find it right away. On the good side, I saved the customer AND the insurance company $$$$$ by finding the leak now, and not when the customers used the spigot come this Spring!

If your connecting to house spigots, especially in the frozen areas of the country, CHECK FOR LEAKS BEFORE YOU START!

Years ago we got tired of being accused of breaking their pipes so we decided it would be better to carry our water. It also sucked trying to find water when many customers would turn the spigot off for the winter.

Well, since I was only extracting, I just charged for more time on the job. The WD guy will have a little more wall drying to do.
Marty....do you often hook up to those outside "pump" wells down dere in "Bama?
