If you had a chance to buy a used Orbot Sprayborg or a Cimex 19 inch in good condition for the same price, which would choose and why? Which is easier to use?

Depends on what you are using it for. Orbot can be used both residential and commercial. Orbot can easily be handled by one man.

Pad cleaning removes soil, Encap does not remove soil at the cleaning time.

Buy the Cimex!

Looking at just cgd. Areas where truck mounts can't go. Seniors homes, commercial offices and retail stores. Leaning to the Cimex but looked at a orbot today while I was some other used equipment. Lighter and easier to handle but I think the Cimex covers more ground.

We have both, 2 Orbots and 9 Cimex's. Depending on what you're cleaning and the soil load I could make a case for either.

If its mainly CGD, the Cimex, its built like a tank.

OP macines in general are a little more delicate and take a little bit of a learning curve. However saying that we use the Orbot enough we probably need another OP machine one of these days.

Orbot is a lot more versatile, and probably more practical on most smaller to mid sized jobs.

Cimex for ONLY straight encapping bukku sq ft.

You have any other rotary that can spin absorbents?

I have a couple of 175's I can bonnet with. I think the cimex is the way to go. Gotta sharpen up my negotiating skills.

If the price is low enough Ron maybe you could get both. Seems like both would be useful and the Orbot could probably find a place in the van. Lowball a package deal!

Ive used both. I own the cimex.
the cimex's counter rotating brush keeps loose rugs down while the orbit would kick up the rugs when at the edges.
better agitation with CRB.

I just decided between a Cimex and a power-spraying jiggler myself, and am going to go with a jiggler...(Orbot/Vario/MyteeEco).

There is a big void between a 175 and a Cimex.

I think Orbitals with on-board spray systems are the cats azz.

Scrub, post-pad, en-cap, pad-cap, put-a-cap-in-yo-ass, all with an on-board spray system, and so easy to use, even a chimp can run it safely.

I wouldn't get a Cimex unless I already had a spraying-jiggler.

I think they are so groovy.............

We took the Sprayborg off both of ours. lol

It just made it heavier, more awkward in tight areas and everyone got tired of the tight fit of the 2.5 jug.

Big boss or Multisprayer is what we use instead.

The Cimex is a bear for CGD. It is superior for doing larger accounts. Plows through voluminous acreage of CGD! Chavez is right.

An orbital is great for a wide range of cleaning situations. It pulls more soil initially. It has great versatility. Chavez is right.

Bottom line; there's no silver bullet. The Cimex kills it for serious commercial work. None better! An orbital is a better choice for an all-rounder. Get's into residential and commercial.

You have to decide what fits your style and what you want to achieve.

P.S. A Vario Pro will save you a bundle of cash, if you decide to go with an orbital.
P.P.S. Mikey is right too. Best case scenario - get them both.

Great advice guys, thanks. I think I will prioritize the Cimex and if I can get the Orbot as well that would be nice. For where I want to use it, the Cimex fits the bill and I hear what Papa John is saying about loose rugs. I tried it on a scrap loose rug and couldn't get it to go without humping it up.

I'm working in a call center and the owner had a guy come in with an Orbot with weight set. Low pile carpet squares, open areas but a lot of coffee, drink spills and dark traffic lanes at entrances/exits. The guy was in there with a helper for 3 nights. He was using Omega solutions? Barely made a dent. The owner was not happy with the results. Week later ServoPro was in with a Vortex with 2 guys. 1 on the wand and 1 helper prespraying and scrubbing ahead with a 175 and green pad. It cleaned up much better than the orbot but seems like it's resoiling quickly after about 4 months. Was it the cleaning solution or the machine used that failed? Or both? I thought a Cimex would have been perfect. I don't know if any guys around here have one. I know in Portland a few guys do but that's about 35 miles South.

Nothing wrong with either system. It could be the solution. It could be the dilution ratio, it may have needed to change pads more often.

Nothing wrong with the Aerotech either. Likely higb ph citrus boosted and cleaned up great...but resoiled like a bitch.

Cheap cleaning solutions are notorious for impressing the cleaner but when they resoil the home or businees owner calls someone else.

Moral of the story, rinse out whatever you put in.

Yes the Cimex would have worked but so should have the other two methods.

Richard,
this is what I did many years back with the jug holder on my Sprayborg:

Prior to having the sign made for the front of where the jug goes, I had the front & rear steel cut.

It instantly sprung apart about an inch or more.

I then had another piece of steel welded into the area.

The jug now slips in & out very easy.

Thanks Richard, I'm basically a very lazy person that just tries to make my work easier.

If what I do helps others, then I'm happy.

I always TRY to offer helpful solutions if I can.

Sorry Marty :marty:, for such a long post. :winky:
