It’s my opinion that franchises do not belong in the service sector. That said, some are better than others. I could tell some horror stories being a former Jani-King franchise owner. Jani-King took an average of 50% of the money and there are now at least 100 Janitorial franchisers using The Jani-King pyramid scheme business model. Because of the market saturation these companies are now bidding very low and finding emigrants to sell franchises to. There are definitely some reputable franchisers in the cleaning industry, however many are predatory and don’t depend on the financial success of the individual Franchise or customer satisfaction.
