Quickbooks has just started using Outlook Express to send their emails from within the software. Problem is,whenever I try to send an email, I get this error from Outlook Express:

The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', Server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0DThe host 'POP3' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', Server: 'POP3', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

Is there anybody here who can tell me what this means and how to do anything about it?

I know it doesn't help right now, but if you call your internet provider they can give you the correct info in the morning

When I set up Outlook Express, in incoming mail I fill in pop.charter.net and outgoing is smtp.charter.net. So type in bellsouth.net in place of mine and maybe it'll work.

Fred is correct. You will need to go into the outlook express tools menu, accounts, and choose your email connection to add the proper server names. You may be able to pull the server names from your old email client.
