After watching Nates video on the carpet cleaning King, he rolls his vac hose under on the reel. Kinda like the toilet paper question ........over or under?

Well, do ya roll your hose over or under??

Over for me, just like my toilet paper.

My sons prefer UNDER because they think it is easier to wrap up.

Arghhh...a left handed dad to 4 right handed sons.
when pulling hose it doesn't matter.
The argument is:
Pull down or push up on the reel to rewind
We always do over the top on a new installation
Now I'm not sure:frown:

@Lee Stockwell You got some points for being left handed as am I...

The toilet paper is a pet peeve of mine with my gf....... She always puts it under and I bitch and switch it.... I guess I should just be glad there is toilet paper....

I've heard of guys putting a cut piece of PVC pipe on the bottom bar to make it smooth... Either way with and electric hose reel, you'll still get whacked either way....

Rolling up hoses is much easier if you are pulling the reel downward. Therefore I prefer them going in under. I'm not sure why it is an issue that it would catch the frame.... One hand rolls the wheel, the other hand holds the incoming hose and it wouldn't be touching anything.

Hey, as long as the right plumbing is in place...

You better have this on the bathroom door, like they have it in some bar.

I did under. Less likely to smack you. Easier to roll up. I used an old glide on the frame bar. PVC would work fine as well.

Take care,
Lisa
Great Tip!! I always thought under wouldn't work because the 2.5 has such big ribs it used to get stuck on the frame pulling the hose OFF. I used the pvc and all is good..

How does it get caught on the frame?? You guys should drive the reel with one hand and manipulate the incoming hose with the other hand... I never have the hoses scrape dragging the bumper and reel frame.

I use both hands to get it done.. I really hated using this van because there isn't a power reel, but this makes it way easier. .

Do you use 2.5 hose zee? I have it catching the frame on both vans..

I use 2.5" as well. I have it in my hand holding it up away from the frame.

Screw that! I'm for ease and efficiency. . You don't have to hold it from the frame it you put pvc on it.. Your bumper is metal I think it will be fine.
