People piss me off. There is no loyalty. I had a lady call me to clean her in-home daycare. She said I had cleaned it before and was happy with my work. She was insistent I clean it over the weekend. I told her I try to reserve the weekends for my family but would make an exception and fit her in next Saturday. She said she wanted it done on Sunday only. I told her I couldn't do that but was willing to help her out on Sat.. She replied, "I'll just call around and find someone to do it on Sunday. If I can't I'll call you back." I told her she hurt my feelings.

If she calls back I'm not answering. I have a boat engine to install.

It bothers me that people treat carpet cleaners like a commodity.
I think many of these people treat everybody in their life like that. Definitely a service provider, yet I suspect not limited to.

It is their issue and you don't want to become like them. Just keep chugging along treating all your clients well.

It must not have been very bad. When it's bad they are more concerned about damage. Mitigating the damage, preserving their home and preventing mold.

We give a ballpark of average loss but sometimes that's much more than their final bill ends up being. Other times it but a fraction of the invoice.

We are working one now that called in at 6:00. Homeowners on vacation and son found the a broken water line. 2 crews worked until midnight extracting and setting equipment. First day alone was over 3k. With all the equipment being used this particular job could easily be 7-8 k.

People react different when their home and valuables are truly in peril.

Or so I was told

you must be getting that intel from "Bob's sources" , Ofer

I've never needed any rhyme, reason or rationale to buy a gun

as proof, nobody hurt my feelings this week
But look what I brought home Tuesday

This winter when I'm bored and too broke to buy any new guns, I plan to detail strip, and pimp 'n polish every scuff, tiny hair line scratches right down to the last frame screw.
It'll shine like a new penny

It'll make a great 16th birthday present for The Boy (my Grandson)

and if any of you homos tries to hurt my fillins, there's just one question you need to ask yourself

Really. Prove it. (I'm a trusting person- A note from your wife will do.)
Because Bob's picture of you from this week tells a whole different story:

All that’s true when they’re standing ankle deep in water and it’s all around them. Cost is NO problem. But when they’re standing on dry land and everything is normal and they see the invoice, then they get amnesia

I love that a great majority of my customers will wait but if it doesn’t fit their schedule I understand that they will go somewhere else

If you tell them a crew will be there within the hour, all we will need is a check for $500.00 and a signed work authorization to begin the process. Suddenly you separate the pepper from the turds. If they can't come up with money now, they never will later.

Naw. Part of owning my own business is I get to pick who I want to work for. Sorry Bawb, I’m not eating grub worms. If someone treats me like shit, I move on. If I wanted to be forced into a life of being whipped, i’d chain myself to a cash register at Safeway, join a union, and vote Democrat.

My customers I work for certainly don’t do me that way. And IF there’s any issue with an adjuster if they use one, they tell them how it’s gonna be. At this stage of the game, they’re the only one I would do that for. Again, I’m like Saiger, I’m outta that biz.

We service a good majority of repeat clients, especially businesses but we also are always getting new clients that heard from someone they trust to call "Chavez" instead of the other guys.
