Performer 405 thermostat?

Im looking to buy a new thrmostat for my 405 at my local parts store. Does anyone know a part number or model number that I need to use. I'm trying to get it without taking the old thermostat out.

Is this a prochem part number or something I can use at an auto parts store?

I called prochem in Arizona earlier and the tech support guy there told me I would half to take it out and have it matched up at the parts store?

Does that thermostat have any thing to do with the temp. of the water that runs through the pump? I know that It might make the engine run hotter but not enough for a noticable temperature increase in the solution.

Dave,what year is it?what nissan engine is it?those are other questions you will be asked just in case (and more probable)the guy wont be able to cross referance a prochem part.

I would think it is real easy to change it out and take it down to the store and match one up.
