I want to buy a polisher to encapsulate furniture with. Some suggested sears, they had units from 69.00 on up. My question to the folks that use such a tool is this. Do I have to buy a certain amp unit like 4-11 amps? Should I get adjustable handle unit? Should I buy 6 inch head or should I get 7 or 9 inch size. Do I need two speeds. Should I buy their bonnets. Is there a difference in the terry bonnets from different suppliers? And Thanks to all that post, to help me out. Ron

If you want expensive get a Makita.

If you want value here is the Chicago Electric version for MUCH less at Harbor Freight (I have two of them), you can also get the "No Questions Asked" 2 year replacement plan for $9.99 as well.

You can do a search at encapboard.com on "Little Mak" and get a lot of info.

I have that Chicago buffer from Harbor Freight.
Mine has a velcro face so I can use those 8 inch hand bonnets.

Kind of awkward to use on furniture but great on stairs.

Thank you Del, I just found out we have a retail store in town. Bought a 10 amp 7 inch as you posted and Jimmy has. Also bought 6 terry bonnets extra and one wool one. While I was there they had a small blower by chicago for like 49 dollars, multi directional looked great for furniture, bought the blower also. My total bill was $100.89 cents. Thank you all for your time! Ron

Ron,

I like Cimex sized (8 inch) Tu-Ways on mine as well as Cimex sized fiber plus pads.

The velcro on that pad driver will stick to a Tu-Way like your life depended on it. I accidentally ripped the velcro off the base yesterday pulling a Tu-Way off the velcro attached so strongly.
