For my OP machine in a Residential setting. What is the best pre-scrubber?

There is no right answer all the time.

I would say a Dura pad with green stripe would do fine for most job.
Dura pad when doing more delicate carpets
white VCT pad when you need to be a little more aggressive.

I use a CCS synthetic on a CCS Brute to prescrub about everything. Never had a problem, but since I use an RX instead of a wand, I wonder whether prescrubbing is redundant in most applications.

I've used green fiber pads on pizza joints with good results.

When I had an OP, it was the encap brush I found actually scrubbed the best on a cut pile, and just used cottons on berbers.

I didn't like using VCT pads on the OP in residential that much, I did scrub and run a berber once or twice on a move out, but I wouldn't recommend it.
