whats the postive side of having 3/8 pressure line compared to 1/4 inch.

I hear it keeps the water hotter longer.
Just run 50 out of the van, then 1/4 the rest of the way to your wand.
I think.

3/8 has the capacity to flow more water

as a practical matter, that's just not an issue for normal carpet cleaning and normal hose lengths

I don't think it will ever burst. Might be worth the extra weight.

Better for pressure washing, and will give you more NET psi at the wand, not a big deal for most TMs as you can turn the pressure up to compensate, but it would be worth having (in a lighter weight) if you ran a Bane or tried pulling Valentine hose runs on a porty where limited pressure and flow were a concern, 100' of 3/8 has like 1/3 of the pressure drop as 100' of 1/4".
Come to think of it, No porty should probably be used with 1/4"....lol

There is a guy in my area that runs that black hose like on your average uphol. tool in 50ft sections... Seems like a pain in the ass anybody run that stuff? Really don't know what the benefit would be.
