Ok basically first thing in the am and between jobs my regulator loses its adjustment.

Set to 500 then fire up and its suddenly down to 300 or less.
Knob even feels loose. Adjust to desired psi and no problem til I shutdown.

Judson TNT new Cat and regulator less than 3 months ago.

What is it I need to check?

you said the knob even feels loose, is it moving out of adjustment as you clean?
is your spring inside broken?

Put a mark on the handle with sharpie or a piece of tape to see if it's moving (unscrewing) on it's own.

Dont think I have a backup pressure semsor shutoff valve.
What and where is a Foot Vavle?

Yes the knob is moving on its on but only when not under pressure.
I will mark the knob to verify.

This is an 1999 TNT so its pretty darn basic.

here ya go Lockhart
I bought it at TCS. I don't think I can pull the bullet out.

It's gotta be coming loose when the machine is running. I've had mine come completely off during a job once. Like the first two weeks w/the TM, parts all over the driveway...

Just bouncing during the drive wouldn't cause that? Would it?

It stays put while cleaning. Only loses setting while machine is off.
Talked with Les today. Gonna put rubber band around it to hold in place.
Or I have air leak like stated earlier

It physically unscrews while just sitting there? That would be a first for me. Let us know if the rubber band stops it!

if you are pulling from a jug
you will have a hose that goes into it
a foot valve is the one way device on the end
that keeps the chem line full and not bleed
back into the jug.....leaving air in the line!

if the handle is moving
you need a lock nut to snug it up!

Mines does that too but only at very low pressures... Below 200psi the thing will vibrate loose, but it's a Paraplate 1320 unloader I believe... I turn it down that low when I'm using it for water extraction...

I have the rubber bands on now. Tightened up all hose clamps.
Bob all I have on end of rinse hose is just a screen I think. I will check if it has check valve.

Yes it at least appears its turning NY itself. Knob is super loose. I mean no resistance at all either direction.

Why do you continue to bypass TCS with your repair and equipment needs? One phone call and anyone there could have solved this in under two minutes.

I know because it happened to me, but unlike YOU, I called and talked to Chan.

that blue spring has a minimum pressure rating of I believe 500 or so. in other words, unless its turned up higher than that it will keep coming loose. You need a pressure regulator with the white spring in it. That has a minimum of 200 I think. Maybe someone can find out, I'm to tired.

TCS just had me make sure those double nuts where tight against each other on the threaded shaft under the spring.

Wahlaw tits fixed.
Thanks fur the help.

I am still losing pressure setting.
Not prime but pressure drop down to 200 psi.
Quick spin of regulator brings it right up.
May throw my old one on and see if it continues
