I have the opportunity to buy a 2008 2500 chevy express van with 69k miles and a performer 405 in it with 500 feet of hose and reels for $10k, machine seems to work fine and start up and go, my only concern is this one was manufactured in 1997 making it 22 years old. It has 5800 hours but he says its been always serviced, and it looks as if it does? I need OPINIONS, worth it or not??

The performer 405 is a beast and one of the most reliable units out there. It's a little dated but if it's in good shape I would say go for it. Their are a few guys on here that have good first hand experience with the 405's. I think it's a decent deal but I would negotiate it down a little if I could. Maybe offer $8000 and see where it goes.

My 2007 van just turned 80,000 miles. its easy to tell if the miles/hours are correct. A thorough inspection and detailed maintenance records would be required.

5800 hours, heck, its just broke in. I sold my Performer with just under 10,000 hours and ran like new. Motor will last forever.

To me it would be worth every cent if the miles/hours are accurate.

What parts are unavailable?
Lots proprietary stuff. We still have 5 of them left down from 8. Yes, HE, don't care to try and source one or have one built. No time or patience to have a machine down.

One of ours had the drain tube that ran from the waste tank through the unit to the front console. Our distributor rigged it up so it was functional...but it looked like hell.

That's when we traded up for an Everest. I thought he would clean it and sell it. He's used it as a parts machine and come out better.

judging by the rest of the pics, I wouldn't be surprised at that
That van and gear look pretty clean 'n well maintained overall
(it's hard to fake all that with a cleaning up for sale when/if one is "less than good" about it

as far as the seat cover.....ever jump in a van with a tool like napping shears or screw driver in rear pocket ?
I have ......:icon_redface::madder:

the door handle/armrest ?
It's a GM ....micky mouse hardware thru-out

no clue as to market value
but doesn't appear to ever been trashed or abused

So 2008 express with those miles is worth’s every bit of 8. grand. I don’t care what the KBB says. If you find one with those miles priced for less let me know. That makes the 405 2 grand. Already installed. Great deal. Buy it. You will have some small issues with the 405 but everyone knows how to work on them and other than rust, (or chronic disassembly by the elderly) they last forever.

What’s up with the fancy letters? Do you think you’re better than us? Admit it!

meh....
just dealing with 500ft of hose would be more of a PITA than moving the van to another side of the joint .
and 500 ft of vac hose takes up half or more space in a van

it's just not something you need for everyday cleaning unless you service 20K sf+ buildings with limited entrances regularly .
It's rare you'll need more than 250ft of hose...so don't sweat it
