Guys
I just bought a used Prochem Peak but the owner I am buying it from said he only had to replace some belts the 2 years he owned it. He can't recall the year of machine and he sent me the main serial which is
Serial number: 1000130665

Great reliable unit! Belts were a issue until I opened up the vacuum with 2.5 hose (highly recommended)..

If there is one downside to the Peak is the exhaust manifold, it usually will Crack and leak where the second head connects. I think they cost about $180. I'm still trying to figure out a way to make them last longer.

How many hours are there on it?

There's not as much resistance.. It will take it a little longer to heat up at least on the first job of the day, but the benefits are well worth it. I personally didn't like to run more then 100' before I switched to 2.5 with the Peak..

Yeah, you're probably right..

I like to hang and carry my inside 2" hose in and pull whatever 2.5 I need off the reel to get to the front door.

I would guess that it is around a 2003.. There should be a date on the radiator label to give you an idea of what year it is.

If you don't have the manual you can find it at prochem.Com, it will be listed under the discontinued models.

then shipped back?

strange..
I dunno I just called in the # and that machine was built august 2004 and shipped to Johnson Professional in Japan. The OP said he just bought the machine and the seller sent him the serial number so it sounds like he doesn't have the machine yet?
Hopefully he isn't getting okey doked

I am the owner of the machine. I posted it on the forum for sale last week. I don't really know anything about it being from Japan lol. I bought it used in October 2014, from a cleaner in Pittsburgh who upgraded to PTO units. He had it serviced at pembertons, not sure if he bought it there or not.

Should be able to get you on track.

I'd do a complete service if I were you. All belts, filters and fluids

Thanks for heads up its funny on a new piece of equipment routine service work is usually fun the first time.

I will get in touch with Mr Olsen why they don't put a simple stamped VIN TYPE # on there machines would make it a lot eaiser.

As far as Japan are you telling me that Prochem is telling you that? I just seen the post I been really busy, I have no reason not to believe the guy selling it.

I know the seller wouldn't purposely not tell me that if he knew. Perhaps the number I gave you guys the part was made in Japan. I have asked other guys on other forums and this is the 1st I heard of it going to Asia after being manufactured here?

No I don't have the machine yet, but let's say it was shipped to Japan for whatever reason if it checks out with Prochem as being one of there machines.

Why would it being used in a foreign country be a negative. The seller has been a straight shooter from the start?

I don't mean to be ignorant but what am I missing here that creates a valid concern, "Honestly?"

Thanks Again,
Robb

Probably a mistake. However back during the Gulf War there were several units shipped to Iraq and then shipped back. Later they were sold by a KC company that didn't need them any longer.

I don't believe they ever got uncrated, just shipped back & forth.

@Jim Pemberton are you selling punjabi prochems?

We've sold Prochem truck mounts since Gerald Ford was president. Your Punjabi reference escapes me.

I've known you for 10 years and I still feel like the dumb kid in class who missed the joke everyone else laughed at when you make some of your references, lol.

It keeps me humble.

The serial number provided was for a Prochem Peak built in August 2004 and it was shipped to Johnson Professionals in Yokohama Nagasaki Japan. That's what Prochem's record shows. I don't know anything more then that.

I would insist that machine be thoroughly checked out
by an emigration physician for SARS before I got within 50 feet of it.

And scanned for possible Fukushima radiation too..

Sorry I know I am late to the game and I don't want to throw any of my lovely co-workers under the bus. But I think they forgot to mention that serial number is not for a Peak. Yes, it was shipped to Japan, but it was not a Prochem machine.
