Pretty similar products..
TG is $49 or so a gallon
PE is $36..

TG is 64 to 1..

What is PE's dilution?

Who uses these products and what are your thoughts?

Procyon Extreme is 4oz to 1 gal. or 32-1. I actually use it at 64-1 in my hydroforce. 16oz to 1 gal. I rinse with Procyon Plus powder at aprox 20z-5gal portable, or 32oz-5 gal headstock metered at 2-4gph

They are not similar at all. I tried it way back when. Many years ago. It was ok, but I don't like DeLimonene (respiratory irritant and other concerns) in my pre-spray and prefer to add my own peroxide when needed. Less versatile then Procyon Extreme. Can't use it on wool. Strong odor. Hard to rinse out.

Never understood who they are marketing to.

??? wool. I've probably used 5 gallons of trashed green. I really like it. I've talked with Magic Wand on several occasions regarding TG and wool. Honestly it works well on wool and I've never had any challenges rinsing it. I tried ordering Procyon, shipping to FL was a lot of money...I'd love to find some locally.

If it does bot carry the WoolSafe label, than if something happens, it may be your problem. Procyon Extreme has it.
Also beside the name that contains the word green, is there any info regarding non toxicity. Again, as a marketing tool the seals (certificates) do help. On the other hand if one has an anti against these certificate (as many do) knock yourself out.:winky:

Woolsafe, procyon paid for it, may other products are woolsafe they just have no rating. I know of at least one rug shop that uses formula 90 on just about every rug...but I hear you. Trashed green's label sights lots of green attributes. I think most would agree, Magic Wand puts out some pretty good products.

I really don't know Mike.
My concern is both warranty issue and marketing to the consumer.
The products that carry it don't seem to be more expensive and if they're slightly more so, I'm more than willing to pay for it. To me it shows that they care and they make my life easier.

The issue with Trashed green is the peroxide. Every time you use peroxide on wool you will cause damage. It won't be always be visible but the damage is done. If Magic Wand is telling you to use it on wool then they are either stupid or don't like you. :)

You can't compare it with Formula 90. Depending on the dilution ratio it can be used safely. Actually at its highest dilution rating it is WoolSafe Certified.

Green attributes mean nothing. Marketing.

I'm not arguing..

Some of the badges that manufacturers pay for are sort of silly.

Wool Safe is not.

Are you aware of Enviro Safe?

I use a killer product at times for certain wool and silk applications that is not WoolSafe certified but is amazing. You can drink it. I don't think they have any certification or badges whatsoever.

News flash if there's a problem it's your problem!

And more so if you use the wrong product, that knowingly contains chemicals that are harmful (in this case to wool.)

Marketing, had you not noticed yet, works quite well.

.........yet everyone may reserve the right to bitch about it.

Back to the original idea, Mikey posted:

Am I missing something here with Trashed Green and Procyon being similar?

I wouldn't consider them similar at all.
Trashed Green has delimo and peroxide among other things. I view it a little bit more like a younger weaker brother of Powermax in a liquid form.

Sam!

What the heck you got going on with your hoses!? Very cool! Is that a bike grip behind the valve(sol line)? Where did you get it? My bend restrictors are the plastic/vinyl type.

And the blue safety connector seems different than mine(that only last for months)... It's not a hydroforce, right?

Hows that ridged flash cuff staying on there?
