question for Cleaners from California

[Carpet Cavalier]

I heard a rumor today that it is state law in CA that when a rental is turned over that the carpeting be replaced with new not just cleaned. Any truth to this?

Lived here my whole life lived in a lot of rentals in my younger years, never did anyone replace the carpet before I moved in. Unless ythis is a new law, I think someone is feeding you BS.
