Ok guys I did a search, and just finished reading Marty's 5 page post on his pto going out. I had my tranny serviced by a local Ford/UD dealer yesterday. I explained to guy that it had a chelsa? pto and had been told it would require extra fluid. He said yeah probably a qt or 2 extra. I discussed this a couple of times with him while service was going on (remembering something about Marty posting about the fill level being higher than usual).
When I paid for the service I drove it home and did a Hot Fluid check and the fluid level is only 1/2 way of the fill mark. Can you V owners check your tranny fluid level while hot and let me know where your level is? I am getting ready to go out and crank up the pto to check, but, I have alot of work coming up and don't want to chew up a pto if it can be prevented.
I run the 2004 6008 V if that makes a difference.
