I've never had good luck with those either Jim.
I tried them years ago and was very disappointed.
A few months ago, I thought I'd give them a try again.
JUNK!!!!
Unless you want to change them every couple weeks or baby them by never letting them drag as you reel the solution line, they're JUNK
Aren't worth two dead flies to me.
I have two new ones I'll probably never use
Parker 60 series(? think they're 60s) has always lasted longest for us.

I looked long and far to find the best, went with Foster, turns out to be the ones steamway recommends as well.
ps: the above safe connect in Jim's pic use a cheap parker socket.
The inventor of that product (Steve) is the same fellow who makes our sewn products like the wand straps for the handy spotter, the handy spotter it's self, and our super stair strap, he is also the Vanopy guy, you might have seen his stuff in the new products section of ICS.
Back when he was prototyping the safeconnect, he used Foster, but when HydroForce bought the idea from him as well as the pending patent rights, they went with a socket that was already being purchased in volume, the parker, and the rest is history.
I hear Foster is working on a better mouse trap, when it's avail. I'll have my hands on it for sure.

Check Greenglides web site. I got some from him last week while in California. They work with the standard brands, like the Parker 60 series.
My local Parker dealer wants about $25 a set for the brass....

My safe connects last about 1-2 years. I think "Meat" casts out his pressure hoses like he's "fly fishin'"thus causing premature wear.

Greenies right about Foster, great fittings! As he said, they are not available with plastic covers yet. The only other fittings that you can buy with the plastic cover are from Kleen-Rite Mfg. However I am not sure about the quality of them or if they sell direct.

I don't know anything about the quick connects you dudes are talking about, but the best I've ever had the privilege to use are the stainless steel quick connects.

SS are expensive, but in the long run, can be more economical. But I think the best combination is nickel plated brass.
As a rule, use with only viton orings AND on the shut-off seal.
Based on my experience purchasing tens of thousands of disconnects.
I carry SS Hansens with viton seals, as well as 5-6 other brass types. Brako, Parker, Foster, the Samjo units pictured above, in blue and teal and others.

I haven't really had a problem with them either. I use a dental tool and change the o rings every once in a while and lube them up, seem to be fine
