Do you prefer to groom with one over the other. I was a rake only guy...hey new acronym ROG, recently picked up a broom style.

The broom is ok leaves a nice smooth finish. I find on deep plush carpet it tends to make the pile look a little flat where the rake seems to leave the appearance of more depth in the pile.

What is your preference?

Rake before cleaning and brush to groom

I didn't always groom but since my wife said that is how she would want it done. That is how I do it

I always brushed before cleaning and raked after protecting.

I don't think the rake agitates even a fraction as well as the brush.

Rake. Don't even own a brush.

that's gonna bite me one of these days when I get a really touchy plush... And I have to decide which way I want to flex my hack prowess... By leaving it ungroomed, or by putting corn-rows in it and telling her it was already like that.
