Steve,
I am feeling your pain!! Lots of minor flooding going on around us too, though nothing as severe as yours. According to our neighbor, our lake level is currently at the highest level in at least 40 years. My irrigation pump house is flooded and the motor and electronic timer will soon be under water. This after I paid a couple of years ago to have them raised up to prevent this type of issue.
There are a couple of cabins down the street from me and they are in the water now.
The flood stage is supposed to crest tomorrow afternoon in our area, so hopefully it won't reach my house.
Sounds like Houston last year. I sure hope FEMA will provide assistance. They were an unexpected pleasure to work with when I had to deal with them on homes we were cleaning and drying.Watching the news this morning some dams are ready to fail. Kids that my daughter teaches who live at a trailer park were pulled out of class to get all their belongings. They say the whole trailer park will be washed away.
Looks like you guys are getting dumped on today too. It stayed south of us thankfully. I'm whipped!State of Emergency declared here for flooding. 4 big rivers converge here and they're all over the banks.
Elkhart is in my work area but on the fringes. My son lives in Walkerton IN. and works in Elkhart, sent me some pictures, it is really bad out there.
We had a couple feet on the ground for our January thaw that lasted a few days ma y be a week then it refroze and we had another couple feet on the ground and it poured for a couple days. The ground was still froze so it all went to the creeks and rivers. Kinda the perfect storm scenario. Worse in a hundred years I heard. All of this is from snow melt?
