I hate you're going thru such a devastation. We are on the opposite side of the wet scale - in a drought. We had 1\2" of ice yesterday that will keep us from being upgraded from extreme to exceptional for at least a week or two. Feast or Famine.

Watching the news this morning some dams are ready to fail. Kids that my daughter teaches who live at a trailer park were pulled out of class to get all their belongings. They say the whole trailer park will be washed away.

They just had fund raisers to get a couple families homes there too who were homeless. My daughter is taking it pretty hard.

Just saw the lower level at the hospital is flooded. Lots if sink holes opening up everywhere. My concrete driveway was floating. No water in the basement thankfully.

heck Steve...you be launchin that boat out yor second story window.......
I wouldn't out a boat in that water. It's moving fast and loaded with debris.
More rain coming for the next three days. The landscape will be changed when it finally recedes sometime next week maybe.

Steve,

I am feeling your pain!! Lots of minor flooding going on around us too, though nothing as severe as yours. According to our neighbor, our lake level is currently at the highest level in at least 40 years. My irrigation pump house is flooded and the motor and electronic timer will soon be under water. This after I paid a couple of years ago to have them raised up to prevent this type of issue.

There are a couple of cabins down the street from me and they are in the water now.

The flood stage is supposed to crest tomorrow afternoon in our area, so hopefully it won't reach my house.

Hope the damage can be contained. Sorry you are living through this. Where I live we are at 60 percent of average rainfall this season. It's been warm and dry. We will take some of your water.

Sounds like Houston last year. I sure hope FEMA will provide assistance. They were an unexpected pleasure to work with when I had to deal with them on homes we were cleaning and drying.

I haven't heard them even mentioned yet. The red Cross stepped up pretty quick to help the families from the trailer park I mentioned but really just the locals for the most part so far.
It's raining now again and not looking good for the next few days. So many homes around here have been built only a few feet above the water table. This is effecting millions of people over hundreds of miles. I've never seen anything like this but have been through flooding when we lived near the Mississippi. Those floods receded quickly this may last a long time.

Ours is receding faster than expected but not that much yet. We only got a little rain instead of the 3 inches they predicted.

Looks like the water has receded 3 or 4 feet but the rivers are still over flood stage.

All of this is from snow melt?
We had a couple feet on the ground for our January thaw that lasted a few days ma y be a week then it refroze and we had another couple feet on the ground and it poured for a couple days. The ground was still froze so it all went to the creeks and rivers. Kinda the perfect storm scenario. Worse in a hundred years I heard.

One house I'm working on it just keeps seeping up from the floor the ground is so saturated. Not really near any water.

The water table is real high so it may be summer before it actually gets back to normal.

we missed the worse of that storm everything has been going south but they keep predicting more.
And winter isn't over till late April here so we telling what will happen until summer. If we don't get some kind of a drought it will drag in. I'm in berrien count the triangle looking one in the southwest corner of Michigan.
