Vacant apt with a beige nylon cut pile. Red food dye stain. I rinsed it out then applied Vacaways Red Vanish. Let it dwell awhile and tried to spot it out with no success. Applied again and let set till next day and it turned yellow. Tried to spot clean it out again with no difference. Any suggestions? I've never had one turn yellow before.

Hit it with an iron, and the A solution of a 2 part red stain remover.

Can't believe some of you guys still use irons. buy a steamer wall paper remover from home depot they work better, faster, and you dont have to worry about burning anything you can walk away and let it work while you clean.

A nice wet towel and an iron can be just as be just as quick as a steamer, especielly with no heat up time. And you can't pick iron's up for as little as 7-8 dollars. The only thing time a steamer is safer is if you have an irresponcible cleaner and even in that case, if you leave a steamer on too long you can very easily delaminate the carpet.

We use both, but I like the steamers for our rug business, we leave the irons on the cleaning truck. you have to leave an iron on carpet a long time to cause problems. Fresh Product is important no matter what you use to heat the product.

You're welcome Art.

I have a few of them . They are getting harder to find since they quit making them many years ago.

They are great. No towel needed. Put a spray nozzle into each bottle and spray. You can leave them almost unattended without damage.

You can use the right prespray and maybe it will remove more red stains and not require red relief. At first I thought this was a coincidence, but after several jobs I can say the prespray I am using removes better than 50 percent of red stains I encounter. Go figure. I still think it is a fluke, but I am not complaining either.

just depends on what the "stain" is.
makeup comes off pretty easy with presprays
popsicle however is a different animal

This juice is making quick work of red pop and kool aid without a reducing agent. I need some more time and scenarios though to say if it is a coincidence. I have removed red stains on four jobs with just prespray and they all appeared to be kool aid or similar red juice.

Redline, and 40 volume right, daniel ?

Never used a drop of 40 vol. Just redline.

It works great. I am going to order a 42 lb pail. I only need 6 oz in my hf. It also works great on cgd olefin or that is what I read.

For Daniel

Red stains can come out with just prespray if the carpet is poly/olefin.

THe trouble is a lot of carpets are blends and it will come out of same fibers and not others.

What is 40 volume and how does it pertain to red stain removal?

It's the different percentages of hydrogen peroxide you can get from the beauty store or from a couple of suppliers on here.

And it really has no bearing on red removal unless its an organic stain.. Repeat after me.. organic reacts with oxidizers, synthetics reacts with reducers!

Red dye stain (red koolaid )use an oxidizer such as Red Relief, Red 1

Organic material stain (red wicker stain)use a reducer such as Stain Magic or peroxide.

Are you sure you don't have that turned around regarding reducer and oxidizer?

Duh,

Sorry Per-oixide is the oxidizer.

(That's what I get for trying to get in a fast post while my wife is calling me to get away from the 'puter)
