I got a phone call last Thursday from a rental agency we do repair work for. I need an urgnet job done but it must be quoted.
Fridge placed on carpet and leaked. Stain not able to be removed but near new carpet and owners have offcuts available.
I asked her to email me the photo. I got it on my pda 20 minutes later, guessed it at $160 +gst and emailed straight back. By lunch time the vacating tenant had agreed to the price. The agent called me to tell me a go ahead and both key and carpet would be at her office by that arvo.
Friday mid morning I got out of a job early. I dropped by and collected key and carpet at 10.30. Damn... a cam shift carpet and the stain runs across.
Lined up the steraight edge and sliced it straight through, cut it out, laid it on the back of the other and cut the new piece, seal the edges and bond it straight in and had the key back before 11.30.
Sometimes I even break the rules.
