I have cleaned / buffed these severely neglected hardwood floors 3 times now using the Bridgepoint system. I finally got most of the heavy greasy residue off. The bonnets from this job have to soak in stripper before being washed. Now that I can see the floor better it needs refinished. The finish is wore down to bare wood in a few areas. The owner does not want it sanded because of expense and inconvenience. I want to try the dustless /Bridgepoint system here but have some concerns. I want to try a small test area to make sure it adheres well and does not peal up because of greasy reside. The other concern is with the bare spots. I’m thinking If they give me trouble, I could use a water based sealer and then sand only those areas. There is 800 sq Ft and the floor is 6 years old. Should I experiment or walk from this one?

I explained that to make it look perfect, it needed sanded stained, sealed, sanded, finished, sanded, finished, sanded finished. I told them that's allot of time, money and or dust. They understand it will not look perfect with this method. When I go back to do the test area I'll get some pics.

You will find that it is tought to get a wood floor in a restaurant completley clean. There is no guarntee that anything will stick. I did one once with no guarantee with floor finish (at THEIR request) and it was ok. I would probably walk or turn it over to a seasoned hardwood guy. It has the possibility of turning into a nightmare.
