I just caught word that Mark Cermak has passed away.

Undisclosed cause at this point.

Tom Cermack, who recently had serious health issues, is still doing fine

For those of you who do not know Mark, he was the "Fred" here for many years. He ran the technical side of MB as well as my local cleaning site in SCruz. Mark and his wife Andrechelle designed and hosted many carpet cleaning sites over the years and at one point were all the rage. The Cermaks also played a big part in putting on the old Summerfest cleaners gatherings for close to 12 years.
For the past few years the couple has been traveling the country in their RV, choosing a "vagabond" lifestyle

His brother Tom says it best below

RIP Mark....

That's aweful! They did my websight. Did a great job. Lots of calls. Seemed like a really nice down to earth guy.

To be married that long in this world he must have been a really great guy. I was always impressed with the bond they seemed to have.

His smile was bright, his demeanor a joy to be around. In the 3 days I personally knew him.A pleasure to be around. He made an impact an impacted others is a positive fashion.
Something made me look on the bb,as I scrolled down an saw the news. I saw something that made me and all of you very sad.
Rest in Peace our brother, may Andrechelle find solace in the mess of chaos she faces.

I never had the privilege of knowing Mark but it sounds like our industry has lost someone who really cared. Best wishes and prayers for his family.

I'm glad I had the pleasure to meet Mark at Summerfest in Knoxville and then again at Scooterfest in Michigan years ago. He was a very nice guy.

Mark was kind, bright, humble, caring, and all of those things we value in a friend, and want for ourselves to be.

I met Mark at one of our events, and the first thing he asked me was if I was aware of " glides" and what they meant to cleaners. I mentioned that I had recently been in touch with someone about them, and he gently but firmly told me I needed to get to know Lisa and Greenie.

...and Lisa introduced me to Mikey shortly thereafter.

I owe Mark the friendships I have with most all of you here, and much much more.

What a good...good....good man.

Tears...

Oh man, that is just terrible news. Mark was such a sweet guy.

Built my website with Andrechelle and have hosted it since the beginning.

Can't express how sorry I am to Andrechelle and his brother Tom

He was just a baby to an old fart like me

RIP Mark. Such tragic news. I always enjoyed talking shop or website stuff with Mark.
Andrechelle and Mark played a Huge part in our startup success on internet.
Was an awesome Day when I won a website from them at my first Summer fest.
My deepest condolences to Andrechelle Cermak and family.

Tom I know things have been tough. So sorry for your loss. I am not far if I can help with any cleaning this week.

I enjoyed getting to know him in Sacramento at my first MF and then seeing him around the shows. Thoughts and prayers for his family.

My condolences to Andrechelle and the family. I hadn't seen Mark and Andrechelle for a few years, but always enjoyed them at any CC gathering.

Life is fragile, so be the best that you can be and enjoy each and every day.

RIP Mark!

Just terrible. When I first saw Tom posting I thought I was going to read something about him considering his recent health issues. I was floored when I saw it was Mark. Much love to Andrechelle, Tom and family. Even though they were "competition" we talked websites and SEO when I first started this racket. Mark and I talked for a few hours when MF was in Nashville in '11 I think it was. He knew I was going to be competing with them and was still kind enough to share information. His sense of humor was awesome and laugh contagious.

If I can help Andrechelle in anyway please reach out to me. I will find a way to make it work.
