The round tanks are called "Cyclonic Recovery Tanks"

The round tank creates the air flow into a tornado effect.

You will get ten percent more air flow. (was told that by a manufacture)
.

Are they stronger? Depends on the type of round tank you use...
If you use a 55 gallon round drum not reinforced...
The blower might suck it through the vac hose...
LOL...

Need to make sure its a thick gauge stainless steel or carbon steel round tank.

I should have been more precise, the only truckmount owners
that I have spoken to have had very small units.I have seen
a vortex work and was blown away, I only wish I could afford one.

IMO the best thing about the vortex/AT tank setup is they have a concave bottom, which causes all the dirty water and garbage to be drained out regardless of the angle that the truck is parked on, If I had such a machine I would install a pipe with jets inside the tank, flip a switch with the dump valve open and you now have a rinsed out waste tank, the only thing I would do different is not put those legs on the bottom but instead make the tank taller so it could hold more dirty water

Stevie, the "legs" make it possible to drain it dead center. Now cut a hole in the flooring and drop the tank some and you could do just that, but you cold weather boys would have to deal with a frozen drain under the truck box. That waste tank is pretty good size for most guys.
