OK, so I have NEVER, EVER, EEEEVER had this happen to me...
Ive rebuilt/refurbished several of these and used them since before I got my first PUBES.

I usually give the star a firm shove with my foot and it spins right off,
But now not even putting a wrench on the top "Swivel" to hold it does the trick.

Put a big breaker bar with a socket to turn the middle of the star, and it just spins. doesnt move the star.

And YES, I am turning the star CLOCK WISE!

Block of wood and a ball peen hammer??

yep.......the thing is brass on the star and it don't take much to cross it just a little bit and you have a fight on your hands......place the wood on the star part as close to the end as possible....don't put it on the part that holds the skids..cheap pot metal...cracks real easy...

EDIT: Ordeal over, came off after a few more good WACKS!

Thanks guys.

Also, I have myself to thank for not cleaning the GRIT off of the threads before putting it back on last time.
