FYI,... the motor on our new Vac was wired in reverse the brush should spin towards you not away about a 10 minute fix and makes a big difference. Not sure if this a one off thing or all the vac are like this

+1. I've put on the belt backwards on my turbine vacuum once . Most times there is a guide like Steve L said.

Isn't it just personal preference? I always like mine so the brush is resisting on the pull stroke...
