we own a vac store and sell those...dust cup is fine as long as it wont get abused...the plastic can break if someone careless is using it...

the dirt cup model works the best, however for some reason they don't put a lower cord wrap hook on them, they comes with a long cord that is really in the way, I just bought a brand new 887 and it came yesterday, I was thinking the new ones would have the cord wrap, they don't, I took the upper one off my old beater, ground the notches out of the inside of it turned it so it pointed down. and used sheet metal screws to attach it to the upright pole, works like a champ and looks much neater and doesn't flop all over the place while in the truck.

Dave;

The Dirt Cup is a nice feature to have for visual information.

As long as the vac isn't thrown around, it should last.
