Im a hack that hasnt been presrubbing. I'm going to go to local places around here this week and try to get one. Im not to concerned about it being an awesome one as it is my first one.

If anyone can give me an idea of what to look for, I would be very grateful. I've seen a few different types and styles, and I'm not sure which one does what. I.E. encapsulate, OP, (whatever that is) I just want something to do a good job scrubbing some rugs.

Maybe shoot me a picture of what to pick up.

Thanks..

Cimex is the ultimate scrubbing machine, it's heavy 104 lbs., but once you get it out of the truck and onto the carpet a little kid can push it. Well balanced and with three scrubbing pads, nothing can beat it. I also use it for encap on commercial with pads or bonnets, and scrubbing tile.
I bought a used one on Craigslist for $800, but after shipping, replacing barrings and a new switch I'm up to $1,400, I've seen them for a low as $2,600 new. If that blows your budget, you can get a used 17 or 15inch 1hp scrubber for about $300 used or $800 new. I heard the 1.5 hp models can last 15 years.

Thanks, 2600 is a little high for me. I'll have to work up to that.

On the 1.5 machines, do you have to have certain brushes or pads to put under them so you dont tear the carpet? Or does it usually come with what you need?

Can you encap with the 1.5 HP machines? Never encaped but sounds pretty good at certain times.

Should I get one that has a spray bottle on the machine or is that not to important since I'm prespraying.

I dispense my prespray through my Cimex because it releases evenly through the heads, but I used my friends 15inch scrubber and it didn't dispense evenly, so I presprayed then scrubbed, I only used his scrubber with a brush, but a pad would have been much better, the white pads wear out too fast, the black ones are too rough for carpet and the brown ones are the best. Do some research on the internet before buying one. I just started scrubing recently, and I sold my RX-20 and rotary Drimaster to buy my Cimex, and my customers love the results.

Yeah I just looked up that cimex and it looks awesome. I'll have to find some stuff to sell.
You prespray through it and then just wand? That sounds really good. How long does the prespray last? 6 gallon tank should last a while right? What prespray do you use?

If you happen to see one that is reasonable please let me know.

I've been using Element 8 from Pro's choice a soap-free product, but every one on here raves about Judson Juice, I'm going to buy some but I have over 30Lbs of Element 8 left, rinse with Formula 90 with a boost of Energizer, a friend of mine tested on dirty carpet and it stayed cleaner longer than the new carpet! Be sure to charge at least .30 cents sqft, I charge .45 cents and tell them their carpets will stay clean longer so they're getting their moneys worth.

I have a procaps machine which is a great scrubber but not a great encap machine. i actually would like to try a sebo duo, they look compact and light. And if ron werner uses one, then it must work! :D

For pre scubbing, just find a used rotary and get a brush or pads for it,thats the cheapest, mechanicly speaking(you also could get a good srub brush and do it by hand if you dont have the money)and if you wernt so far away I have an extra one cheap.

what KevinP said

you need a 175rpm rotary scrubber.
If you know any outfits that strip and wax tile, check with them for a used one.
you want 1.5hp motor.
Personally, I think 15" or 17" is ideal size.
20" is too big, unless you do a fair amount of large open com jobs

You'll need a pad driver that goes under the rotary.
That will allow you to use a variety of different pads and bonnets as the situation calls for.

I'm always positive.
Send me a pic of your used scrubber...how heavy is it?
I may be interested.
Although it's gotta be pretty.

Well, thought there was. Can anyone help me with uploading of a pic?

Gotta have it hosted on line somewhere. Right click, go to properties, copy and paste the url and then while posting put it between the two "img" thing when you hit "img.

I paid $2000 for a like new used Cimex but I think they are too heavy for residential use. I would look for a 175 rpm rotary in a pawn shop.
