Anyone using these "internally" on areas they are trying to keep sectioned off. Not sure that it would be enough of a seal for someone doing remediation or that that needs to create negative air space (We don't do that kind of stuff, so don't know how it works but I know spaces have to be sealed off). I would think these would have a use for someone doing construction or painting and wanting to keep drywall dust down or to a certain part of the house so its not floating all around.

Anyone using seal a door in that capacity?

I think it could easily be used to "minimize the drying chamber" on water losses. :icon_cool:

As far as containment for environmental projects, I think just due to the litigious nature of those projects I'd stick with something that would be a little more permanent/temporary for that project. Despite having environmental controls in place to provide neg air you'll more than likely want a tight seal even if that means some collateral damage to the structure.

Seal a door is a substitute when you can't close the door

If you're doing remediation, I would think closing the actual door and taping the gaps would suffice

11188388_10204220195413668_2744871444055351549_n.jpgThank you for the thoughtful discussion above! Here is our "Universal Flap" Seal-A-Door; the top picture is the carpet extraction hose port flap open; the middle picture is the duct hose port flap open and the bottom picture is all ports flapped closed. This seems to be a good option for those that do carpet and duct cleaning and/or have a need for room chambering for dry out purposes. Because of the durability of the product, it can be used over and over and over again....becoming much more cost effective than "zip doors" for this application. Use of painters tape along the flanged edges to the door frame molding or wall would give an even better (not perfect, but "better") seal. Presently, this option is only available with the "Standard" and the "Jumbo" sized Seal-A-Door...it can also be modified to only have the extraction hose flap (available on all sized Seal-A-Doors). The Universal Flap is a $45 option.
