Am I the only one that thinks the frequency of these should be increased. If I do a job on Monday, the thank you card does not get processed and shipped until the following week and by the time the customer gets it in most cases a week and a half to two weeks has passed. I talked with Mike D at Mikefest. I think I am going to start sending out personal thank you cards that are more authentic and discuss my business in more detail.

I send out 2 free smoothies with each thank you. I sign my name on each thank you letter. I think this helps them to want to do business with me in the future not only because I do a better job than anyone on this board, especially mikey's hackish ways but also because they want to support my family run business. Being personal, but not uncomfortably personal will let them remember your not just some bdcc in their house to make some quick cash.

Brian I think you are wrong. If I do a job on Wednesday, my orders are not ready to be approved until the following week which is usually Tuesday and then they ship the following Friday. I have been getting a ton of work off the cards and they are convenient for sure.

I approve an order every Friday. It's from the customers a week before. If I want, I can add all the customers that I've done up to that Friday....I can wait till the end of the day Friday to approve the order.

The next Friday, I still get to approve an order, even if no one is on it...I can then add anyone from that week. It's just a pain in the ass.

I just approve the order every Friday as it comes in.
The whole point is to Keep It Simple.

I think waiting a little longer is better anyway. You pop back up into their mind and then they may have something else done....maybe they have more money then etc.

if you're going to send a thank you, make it "just" a thank you. People don't appreciate being marketed to even more when being thanked for the service they just bought.

Ron, I think you're a cool guy but really...we are trying to make money here...I know it, you know it...the American people know it.

They know a "Thank You" is always more than just a thank you....but it does show that you care enough about them and their money to send one.

It also shows a well structured business....even if it isn't.

ANd THAT's why "just a Thank You" would have more impact. Don't you get tired of being SOLD all the time. If you want to make money, fine. Make it. Send them a follow up letter Thanking them again and asking for something. If you make $300 ave, aren't they worth two $1 letters? Make them feel really appreciated, not just another buyer.

personal i feel that the thank you cards need to hit the customers home in under a week. after that its just a waste. customers will forget about you and move on
