Slate floor in a bank

I've cleaned this one before with Powermax and didn't see anything that concerned me afterward, but since it's slate, and I don't do it normally, is there anything wrong with cleaning it with an alkaline product?

It's green ... if that matters.

As long as there is no old topical sealer on it, high alkalinity wont matter.

Keep your pressure below 900 and dont let your spinner sit still or you risk etching in crop circles.

Ah... that explains why I didn't have any problems. I did it last time with my old TCS rig that won't clean above 600 psi.

I would have cranked the Cleanco up to 1000 or maybe even 1200 psi if you hadn't told me.

Also look out for possible layer peeling. It really really sucks, when a piece of the slate gets stuck in your spinner's vac slot and you proceed to scratch the heck out of it.


But as far as your question.... I don't think alkaline will hurt it. If it didn't hurt the first time....

I'd be more concerned about the oxygen in Powermax..

Green slate is typically very flat and not much if any shaleing

Maybe around here they got shipments of the peeling types back in the 80s...Homes built then, is where I have come across it.

You may need some for the grout if the Alkalin product doesn't get deep stains out. Test....

Some slates are acid sensative

Well, maybe the state capitol is more important but this building sees TONS of traffice 24/7/365..

Landing this is a game changer..

I had to find a clean spot under a rug to prove to them that I did not bleach the color out of the grout..
