Yesterday we attended a luncheon put on by the one and only newspaper to celebrate being the Best Rug Sucker in the valley. From one year to the next it was pretty cool seeing how many more people and relationships I've developed with the business leaders in that room of 200 people
Next up was an estimate to come fix the 100 year old floor that we stripped two years ago in the county court house. The janitor is mudding it up with their string mops. I'll take care of the carpet too. I am now the go to floor pro for Douglas County Maintenance who also handle the Sheriff's office that I cleaned two weeks ago.
The blue dot is our house, the arrow is the courthouse, which is across the street from the Casino where we had the luncheon, where I also cleaned all their travertine and slate last year. See the little lake (as opposed to the GIANT lake up top) ? I was there last night when @Jim Pemberton called to chat. Seen in the next photo..
After the courthouse inspection I gave an estimate to the owner of this company that also bailed out of the NorCal bay area. I cleaned one of their three buildings two weeks ago. I charged three times what any local would have, but the owner and shared many interests and a similar escape story and he could tell I was not the ordinary goober.
This is house that I gave a bid on for carpet, slate floors and a travertine shower...
I'll be at my cabin for the next few days out of reach of cell phone and you idiots. 4 of us are going off roading to ghost towns, lemon yellow Aspen groves and 14,000 ft vistas, Tuesday I head to Santa Cruz to cover for Davis while he's at an FPA convention for the week. I then return home to do those two jobs and few more than it's off to Scottsdale.
It's a wonderful life.
