On the Genesis, the pump out is a Jabsco belt-drive, clutch unit. Pretty reliable, IMO, but a bitch to replace the impeller. The impeller is supposed to slide right out of the housing after removing the cover, but no, not mine! I ended up tearing out the impeller vanes, and drilling the brass bushing in the middle just to get it to release. And it isn't in the best location to work on. I finally got it replaced, and it worked like a charm, but, man, the work involved ruined my day.
My advice.......if you have a choice of pumpouts when buying a new machine, get the external electric PO that ProChem offers. It looks like an easy unit to service, and it's right out in the open.
